Norway and UNESCO have signed a cooperation agreement worth NOK 530 million for 2026–2029, UNESCO announced on 16 September.
The programme allocates NOK 330 million to education, NOK 120 million to culture and NOK 80 million to communication and information. The agency says the funding will support teaching, heritage protection, freedom of expression and access to information.
The arrangement is administered by Norway’s development cooperation agency, NORAD. UNESCO describes predictable, flexible funding as important for responding to emerging needs.
