NASA is seeking proposals for technologies needed to support a sustained presence on the Moon, including power systems and oxygen extraction from lunar material.

The call, announced on 8 September, also covers manufacturing and advanced materials. It is part of the NextSTEP-3 programme and aims to develop capabilities for exploration near the lunar south pole.

The agency says industry, academic and other teams can contribute through the solicitation. These are development objectives, not systems already operating on the Moon.
