Scope
This policy explains how SANn Asia (sannasia.com) handles personal information on its website, writer accounts and publishing services.
Information we collect
You do not need an account to read news. Writer registration collects your display name, full name, email address, mobile number and password. Passwords are stored as hashes, not readable text. We also store profile information, uploaded images, submitted articles and messages you send us.
Server logs may record IP addresses, request times, browser information and requested pages. We also count page views and requests to understand site traffic.
How we use information
We use information to manage accounts, verify access, review and publish submissions, respond to enquiries, prevent abuse and understand site performance. Published articles may show the writer’s name and information selected for publication. Private contact details are not automatically included in articles.
Cookies and local storage
Session cookies support sign-in and security. The preview cookie controls whether you see the portal preview or the construction page. Disabling cookies may prevent some features from working. The editor may store draft text and preferences in your browser.
Facebook and other services
If an administrator connects a Facebook page, its app and page credentials are used to verify access and publish selected cards or captions. This does not require readers’ Facebook passwords. Connection credentials are kept private and can be removed in the admin settings. Information sent to Facebook is also subject to Meta’s policies.
Authorised staff and technical service providers may process information as needed to operate the site. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or for security. External websites, embedded videos and advertisements are subject to their providers’ policies.
Retention and security
Information is retained according to account, publishing, security and applicable legal requirements. Access controls and password hashing help protect it, but no internet service is completely secure. Removing information from backups or publication records may take additional time.
Corrections and deletion
You can update available information in your profile. To request account or personal-data deletion, use the publication contact listed below once available. Include your registered email and identify the information concerned. For a Facebook connection, include the Page ID. Never send passwords, app secrets or access tokens.
We may verify identity or authority before processing a request. Restrictions involving published reporting, other people’s rights or required records will be explained. Deleting a site connection does not automatically delete posts already published on Facebook.
Updates
Changes to this policy will appear here with an updated date.
