UN to mark 40 years of the right-to-development declaration

The United Nations has scheduled a high-level meeting for 23 September in New York to mark four decades since the Declaration on the Right to Development. The announcement was published on 14 September.

The United Nations has scheduled a high-level meeting for 23 September in New York to mark four decades since the Declaration on the Right to Development. The announcement was published on 14 September.

The 1986 declaration links development with participation in public decisions and fair access to economic opportunities. The meeting remains upcoming as of 20 September; any statements or outcomes must be assessed after they are issued.
