Sonal Dinusha and Lucy Barnett have won the ICC player awards for August, the governing body announced on 17 September. Dinusha was recognised for his batting in Sri Lanka’s home Test series against India; Barnett won the women’s award after leading the scoring at the Continental Cup.

Dinusha made three centuries across four innings. Barnett scored 257 runs in four T20 internationals and became the first player from the Isle of Man to receive the award. The winners were chosen through a combination of fan and specialist-panel voting.
