A survey of 2,316 UK family doctors found that 75% felt they lacked sufficient time for preventive healthcare, The Guardian reports. The Royal College of GPs says heavy demand can leave limited space for detailed conversations about patients’ longer-term health.
The findings concern opportunities to discuss matters such as smoking, exercise and vaccination. They describe pressures on the delivery of care, rather than advice for any individual patient to alter treatment.
