Giant pandas Ping Ping and Fu Shuang have arrived in Georgia under a ten-year agreement between Zoo Atlanta and the China Wildlife Conservation Association, Al Jazeera reports. The transfer restores pandas to Atlanta and carries diplomatic significance for US-China relations.

The animals travelled from Chengdu with specialist care arrangements. Zoo Atlanta has prepared their habitat and bamboo supply. The arrival followed high-level US-China talks, although the transfer agreement itself had been finalised earlier in the year.
